When Ludwig Bening founded his mechanical engineering company in Barnstorf on 15th May 1949, he could not foresee that 50 years later the name LUBING (derived from the mechanical engineer’s first and last name) would be known worldwide among livestock farmers for highly specialised drinking, conveyor and climate systems. LUBING is considered as a market leader.
The company is always striving to meet the high expectations related with this with its qualified staff and with continuously high quality and trend-setting innovations. Eight subsidiaries and 19 foreign agents speak for themselves. So does the fact that the former three-men-company developed into an organisation with 170 employees alone in Germany today.
60 years developement
In 1967 LUBING produces the first drinking nipples for laying hens and pigs. In the following period, the produced of nipple drinkers for poultry and pigs was further developed and automated. The combi nipple with plastic body was developed and patented.
In 1971, the first foreign agent was authorised in France and finally, on 1st September, the company „LUBING Int. SARL“ with French and German participation was founded. Further LUBING companies were founded in 1976 in England and Spain.
In the same year, the LUBING production range was extended by the development and production of conveyor systems for eggs.
Mr. Schumacher and Mr. von der Assen
On 1st October 1977, the subsidiary BARKU Kunststofftechnik GmbH & Co. KG was founded in Barnstorf. From then on all pipes, profiles and component parts for the LUBING group were made in their own production facilities.
The 1980’s saw a continuous increase in exports to the United States, Australia and the Arabian countries. In 1986, the production of floor watering systems was undertaken. Two years later „LUBING Systems Corp.“ was founded in the United States (Woodstock). In 1993 „LUBING China“ was founded; one year later „LUBING System SRL“ in Italy and in 1995, the first joint venture production was set up in India (Puna) „LUBING Systems PVT Ltd.“
In 1996, the „LUBING TOP CLIMATE SYSTEM“, was developed as the company’s third area of production. This brings down the temperature, increases the humidity and improves the animals` well-being in poultry and pig houses. In 1998 „LUBING Mexico SA“ was founded in Leon.
1999 has again been marked by extensive building activities. The production facilities „Am Kampe 60“ have been extended by another 2,500 square meters and now house the complete production operation.
In addition, a new administration building has been built and a “Research Center” was created. Beside the construction and developement department the Research Center contains a big show room, where the customers can inform themselves about all product lines.
Future prospects
With the anniversary celebrations in October 1999 LUBING concludes 50 years of successfull company history. For the future we will continue to keep our quality standard and fullfill the regulations - and requirements of our customers - world wide.
